BUT WE MAKE DO!

here's one/two different pages that are wip for my morrowind ocs. they didn't get on any of the big pages. i don't know. they fit in at weird times i wasn't even on tumblr really when i made them. yes they have tumblr pages that contradict this shhhhhhhh. i actually mentioned dreyla a bit in my morrowind screenshots i posted recently. she's also in the gifset i made uwu

now.. if we wanna go even further........... i have other more filled out oc pages with custom themes with a WHOLE LIST of ocs that i have not touched or developed in a long time, but some of them are my most explored and fleshed out ocs. like afhiri is not my only babie. some are just old now.

i focused way too much on aesthetic over filling out information in these old pages you'll notice. nowadays i like filling out information like it's a wiki page. but i just struggle to write as much as i need... i get tired man.

this got long. if u ever wanna ask about an oc u can. i got. i got guys man. in my head. and idk. thinking about sharing them again is almost difficult. i dunno why. not cuz i'm shy or anything. not cuz i'm scared to be open about it cuz i don't wanna be judged or nothing. i'm just kind of lazy and tired or something idk. it's a lot of effort to make pages and fill them out. i am a busy bitch. i wanna play a video game or read a book or write a fanfic or watch a movie. i am not the same person i was when i could spend WEEKS nonstop doing this stuff. maybe one day i will get a kick and this new oc page will come to life.... but no idea when.

“Jim Moriarty sends his love.”

He didn’t figure out her passcode in that sentence. Prior to that scene, all he knew is that she had betrayed him. When she said it was Jim Moriarty, THAT was news to him. All he knew was that somehow, she told someone of the terrorist attack which he deciphered.

If you see his face after, his brain is going a million miles per second. Because Moriarty being a part of all this crap is brand new information Mycroft never bothered to tell him.

I agree. “Jim Moriarty sends his love” does not equate to “Irene loves Sherlock” because that’s not what happened.

When Sherlock realized Moriarty was involved in the very beginning, that’s when he realized Moriarty used Irene to get to him. That this betrayal is part of Moriarty’s game.

Since the fireplace scene, Sherlock already knew Irene loved him.

In the plane, he says, “There are number of aspects I’m not quite clear on.” Because to him, it doesn’t make sense that Irene would betray his intel to some random terrorists especially when he deduced that she was in love with him. So he was thinking: if she loved me, why would she betray me for people who don’t give a fuck about either of us?

Then cue in Moriarty.

And he realized. It was all Moriarty’s plan. It was his game. Not Irene’s.

And then Irene started spewing shit about Moriarty being her man. That Moriarty is the kind of man he really likes.

Which made it clear to Sherlock: oh, she’s lying. She’s putting on a mask. She’s saying all these things to hurt me. To distance from me. To hide the fact that she loves me.

And then it hits him.

Her biggest secret at that moment: something no one would have expected. A code, a password of all her vulnerabilities, her secrets: it’s her love for him.

And that’s how he solved the case.

… anyway that’s not my cover photo. It’s a gifset of the battersea scene with an interpretation of what they meant. If you bothered to click the link, you would have seen it. But since you didn’t i’m putting it here:

And despite this, Adlockers acknowledge that this scene is both a hint for Adlock and Johnlock. Because it’s a scene where they both realize they love him. And idk why you all would dismiss ours when we don’t dismiss yours. Seems a bit unfair.

And I never said John was straight.

I was making a point on why would you put Irene’s “Well I am” at face value only while yall would bend John’s “I’m not actually gay.” It’s a very narrow view where you dismiss one and not the other. Like Irene explicitly says she’s gay and John explicitly says he isn’t. And they’re literally agreeing that this explicit declarations mean nothing because they’re both in love with him anyway.

I mean I was a Johnlocker and Adlocker too.

I’m mostly female and I say I’m gay. My fiance is cismale and he says he’s gay. When we’re both pan.

John could be bi or pan or anything. Irene could be bi or pan or anything. Back in the media of 2012, “gay” was often used as the umbrella term for the LGBT. We have “queer” now though.

I’m sorry if I assumed you don’t like Adlock. I was mostly speaking to the person who commented about “being sick of people saying Irene had feelings for Sherlock.” But also know, I have been defending Adlock since 2012. It’s easy to get caught up in the emotions. So I sincerely apologize for the assumption.

But also like… Why do yall have to change Irene’s narrative of falling in love with Sherlock anyway?

We’ll never know how Irene fell in love with him because she’s just as weird and crazy as Sherlock. The reason they’re so drawn to each other is because they see each other as equals. That “finally! someone understands me!”

Her battledress being a blank space for people to put stuff in is kinda disrespectful to her character too?

She’s human like any of us. The reason Sherlock can’t deduce her is because she MADE it that way. She’s the queen of secrets. It’s not that she is a blank empty person. It’s just she’s so good at hiding who she is that not even Sherlock can deduce anything about her.

“Anyone can […] make her what they need to be.” No babes. It’s the other way around. She makes herself completely blank so she can put on a mask and be what someone needs her to be so she can keep her power and control.

She has never been submissive. To either Moriarty or Sherlock. She always had the upper hand. She always had her head held high.

When Sherlock was submitting her to her death, she held her place. The only time she became submissive was when she had to say “Please” to Sherlock. And kinda valid too since she was literally just sentenced to death???

And with Moriarty, they were just business partners or maybe even acquaintances idk. Moriarty never controlled her. Prior to her call in ASiB, he didn’t even give a fuck about her. But she was like “Yo i have some sick intel from an agent lmao” and that’s when they made the agreement.

Like tbh she was just as bored as Moriarty. So Moriarty gets the code cracked, and she gets to play with The Sherlock Holmes. Why else would Moriarty send her pictures of Sherlock in a sheet?

And like, it’s perfectly normal and valid to fall in love with someone??? Even if it doesn’t make sense???

Irene is a lonely soul trapped in a world of seeing the world in one way. With manipulating people to get what she wants. To hide herself as being human in a mask that makes her a robotic machine.

And she sees that in Sherlock. He shows off his deductive skills and lets her show his calculating machine like qualities. She first saw that he was not like any other human: that he was above humanity. “And you believe in a higher power: in your case it’s yourself.” And she knows that kind of person. Moriarty. A smart man but also inhuman.

But then he knew his measurements. Sure, seems odd to know someone’s measurements at first glance but he is the smartest man ever so that’s not a surprise.

What surprised her and intrigued her?

“I was wrong about him.” Irene, the one who says she knows what people like?

Remember in her living room? “I don’t think John knows where to look.” Sherlock says John is having trouble where to look cos she’s naked af. “No, I think he knows exactly where. Not sure about you.” Irene is saying she knows John REALLY wants to look and is just stopping himself because he’s only human. And if there was a naked in front of you, it’ll definitely be attention grabbing no matter how respectful you are. And he is, since he isn’t trying to look. And the latter sentence? She’s saying. Hmm I don’t think you’re normal cos I don’t think you’d look at my naked body like a normal human being.

And when she was on the window. “He did know where to look.” It made her realize: oh he’s just like her. Clever, manipulative, but also human hiding behind the mask of inhumanity. Unlike Moriarty who is very much inhuman.

And it can be exhilarating. To find someone like you.

Alright back to the end of ASiB:

“Jim Moriarty sends his love.”

Sherlock figures it out here, what the password to Irene’s phone is.

Irene scoffs and says “Look at the poor man. You don’t think I was actually interested in you? Why, because you’re the great Sherlock Holmes in the funny hat?

Sherlock says, “No”, it’s because he took her pulse. “Elevated and pupils dilated”. Yet, I know this was comparable to when he checked Mrs. Hudson after she was attacked by the Americans.

But. She and Sherlock both knew she was fine (when John suggested she leave for her wellbeing). And while I know Mrs. Hudson took a hit to the face and was dragged upstairs, maybe she was excited because she knew 1) She had the phone, 2) Sherlock was going to help and, 3) She had to put on her best performance

Let’s not forget how Sherlock met Mrs. Hudson and how her entire character is capable and lenient towards caring for Sherlock and John’s antics—she ain’t normal, she also did donuts in series 4. We don’t mess with Mrs. H.

So it’s possible Sherlock put two and two together and figured, after Irene got cocky and stated “Jim Moriarty sends his love” and continued on about him being the best “consulting criminal” and being her “kind of man”, that Irene was hiding something for Moriarty, something important.

And maybe, just maybe: Irene was to Moriarty what Mrs. Hudson was to Sherlock (the antithesis of consulting detective vs. consulting criminal)

Irene was acting JUST like Mrs. Hudson was.

“I’d imagine John Watson thinks love is a mystery to me but the chemistry is incredibly simple and destructive.”

To me, I believe he’s talking about Moriarty.

Why?

Sherlock also mentions Irene’s measurements again, how when they met she told him a disguise is a self portrait: but she was naked, a blank canvas. She didn’t put her feelings into anything which was why “It wasn’t real”. She was moving exactly as Moriarty wanted her to, which is why Sherlock mentions the intimacy and sentiment of the password:

Irene does not understand because she did not set the password: she allowed someone else control over her life, her heart (the phone) and it ruled her head (the power got to her head, as Sherlock states—she got too excited, moved too far ahead of herself by simply stating Moriarty sent his love, i.e. his obsession of Sherlock, i.e. “Sherlocked”—she is merely a hand to hold the phone, but the phone is her life—that’s where she messed up. She put too much at risk “on the losing side” because Moriarty cares more about Sherlock than Irene ever would.

Just like Mrs. Hudson was a hand to hold the phone and was also Sherlock’s experiment to test her pulse,

Irene becomes the mirror or antithesis to Mrs. Hudson because, unlike Mrs. H, Irene is cocky. Unlike Sherlock, Moriarty’s motivation is excitement and shock and whatever fascination he has for Sherlock.

Sherlock recognizes the same play he did with Mrs. Hudson only 30 minutes before in the episode and reacts accordingly.

“Jim Moriarty sends his love” ≠ Irene loves Sherlock.

P.S: Right after Irene is officially introduced, after she says on the phone “I think it’s time, don’t you?”, Mrs. Hudson is shown in the next scene, if we’re looking for mirrors

giffing tutorial/resources

hi anon! sorry it took me so long to answer. i figured this might be helpful for others out there who have asked me similar questions, so i’ve compiled a pretty comprehensive list of tutorials/resources. idk about others but when i was new to giffing, it took me a lot of painful effort to go around and look for resources, so i’m putting it all here to make it a little easier!

i download videos using 4k video downloader. it will download very good quality 1080p videos in .mp4 format. if you’re downloading a 4k video, make sure to change the setting option to .mkv so that you get 4k and not 1080p—for obvious reasons since you want the highest quality.

i rely on kpopexciting to get .ts files — which are basically raw, very high quality video files for live performances. they are much less grainy than .mp4 versions of live performances—which are the ones you’ll see uploaded to youtube. i’ve found that 4k videos (in .mkv) are just as good quality as .ts, but obviously you will rarely see live performances in 4k, so get .ts when you can!! you can also try to find .ts files on twitter, but you may have to do a lot of digging. i wish i could recommend you twitter accounts, but the ones i used to go to have been very inactive/taken down all their drives :( but this website is really nice and updated frequently so i would recommend it!

vapoursynth links + download. the reason you would use vapoursynth is to resize your gif, while maintaining the optimal quality of the gif. if you gif without vapoursynth (.ie only using photoshop), it will still be fine, but the image quality may be grainier. also, you will definitely need vapoursynth to gif .ts files —more will be explained in the tutorial i’ve linked below. i would recommend that you have a high processing/lots of ram/newer desktop or laptop to use vapoursynth so that 1, your computer isn’t fried and 2, your vapoursynth process will go a lot faster. i am using a 2017 macbook pro for all my work, and it runs pretty well, but my laptop still gets pretty hot so just make sure you’re not running a million things in the background while using adobe products and vapoursynth lol. i used a pretty old and beat up 2011 model macbook air back then, and i will say that yes vapoursynth worked and ran on it, but it took much longer, and basically fried the laptop’s battery (aka i had to get the battery changed twice and the laptop would die randomly) but issok it was a school borrowed laptop so i didn’t feel too bad lol. im just saying this as a precaution, to preserve the health of your electronic devices!! but don’t be afraid to use vapoursynth! you should still try it at least once.

thank you to @realstraykids for this super detailed, really nice tutorial! it includes how and where to download videos, how to gif using vapoursynth, using photoshop, comparisons, coloring, and pretty much all you need to know. 10/10 would recommend

thank you to @dreamcolouring for this lifesaver!!! the best and easiest way to blur out unwanted captions/objects in your gifs. i recommend doing this step after converting your frames to video timeline and before you do sharpening and coloring. another tip i’ll add is to feather the selection you’ve made right before you click on “add vector mask” —this will make sense once you’ve read through the tutorial. feathering it will make the blurred spot less noticeable and more subtle.

i use this generator to create gradient colored captions! copy and paste your text, then select the colors you want. generate the code, and copy it. change the settings of the text editor on your post to HTML. paste the code, preview, and voila! add elements <blockquote>,<b>,<i>, etc as needed. see more on colored captions in this tutorial by @kylos​ --i believe op mentioned a different and better color generator but for some reason it won’t work for me :( hopefully it works for u! basically same idea as the previous generator i mentioned.

my own mini tutorial/workflow process of making gifs. this includes working with a .ts file, vapoursynth, photoshop, coloring, watermarking, etc. and a few of my own tips below:

if you are working with an .mp4, you do not have to make any changes to the preprocessor/denoise filters/sharpening in the resizing part of vapoursynth—it doesn’t make that big of a difference if you do. but if you are working with a .ts file, definitely do make those changes,, that’s the whole reason you have vapoursynth. with an .mp4, i like to use vapoursynth to just resize, but i don’t add any additional settings. i use smart sharpen in photoshop to sharpen it, which is pretty good on it’s own (at least in photoshop 2020!).

my rule of thumb is to do add .02 seconds when i am setting frame delay. so if when you first import the frames, they are at 0.04 seconds, i usually change them to 0.06. of course, this is my personal taste—you can make all your gifs faster or slower depending on how you want em to look.

if you are on a mac, you can screen record by pressing Command+Shift+5 (it’s a shortcut to quicktime screen recording). I only screen record for things like the beyond live concert or other live streamed events. the image quality of the screen recording, in my experience, is actually pretty good. when you gif the screen recording however, you may notice that it adds extra frames that you don’t need. by that i mean duplicate frames. you could keep the duplicate frames but that just means the size of your gif is going to be much bigger (keep in mind the limit is 8mb). in order to remove those duplicates, my only solution has been to remove them manually (by holding Command while selecting), or when you are importing the video to frames, select the option to “limit to every 2 frames”—but this method will be less precise and still not as good as manually removing frames. if you remove the duplicate frames, this means you will need to set the frame delay even slower, to make up for lost frames. in my experience, fps(frames per second) and frame delay work in conjunction. so for example, if i delete every other frame because they are duplicates,  but the starting frame delay is 0.02, i am now going to change it to something like 0.05 (so i added 0.03 seconds rather than my usual 0.02). if the duration length and the image dimensions of the gif are short/small, feel free to keep the duplicate frames in—i only delete duplicate frames in order to keep my gif under the 8mb limit. then, if you keep the duplicate frames in, continue with your standard frame delay preferences.  now that i’m writing this im realizing this might not make a lot of sense lol.. but don’t worry about it for now and if you run into trouble w screen recorded gifs then you can come back to this for reference. again, this is only my experience recording on a mac—it may be a lot different if you use a screen recording program or are on a pc.

i don’t really use .psd templates because i like to give every gif/gifset it’s own unique coloring—so i remake the coloring every time, but if you get into a rhythm it’s pretty easy. there are a lot of nice coloring tutorials out there, too! my personal coloring adjustments in order: levels, exposure, color balance, selective color (if needed), vibrance, photo filter (if needed), color lookup (i use 2strip most often and i put it on ‘color’ blending mode). don’t forget to adjust the opacities and fills of the ‘color lookup’ adjustment layer in case it’s too strong. go back to correct each adjustment layer as needed. then, when you’re done and satisfied, group all those layers, copy the group (you can do an easy command+c), and paste it onto the next gif you’re working on for easy workflow.

if for some reason you can’t see the frames when you import your layers/video, it’s likely because your ‘timeline’ window isn’t showing up. just go to the window menu on photoshop, go to the bottom and you’ll see ‘timeline.’ make sure it has a check next to it.

i recommend watermarking your gifs because a lot of people like to repost tings these days 😠 - so make sure u got your brand on it! i keep my watermark saved to my ‘libraries’ in photoshop so it’s ready when i need it. i use the blending mode ‘overlay’ and adjust the opacity, but if you don’t want to do that you can also add a stroke/shadow to your watermark/do all sorts.

keep in mind that giffing takes a lot of patience, energy, and experience—so don’t worry if it takes you a bit to figure things out or if your gifs don’t turn out the way you want them to the first time around. we all start at the same place and all run into problems. i know giffing can sound intimidating and seem like a lot of work, but i promise, once you get into a routine, giffing is going to happen in minutes—and you’ll get beautiful gifs. have fun! 😊

but will loki die? imdb doesn’t have tom on the avengers 4 cast but google does and imdb doesn’t have, like, peter parker or peter quill both are on google AND have future movies coming so i don’t trust imdb. see this post for (bad) clarification.
